About Scientific Worth Index
Academic ranking evidence that can be inspected, not merely accepted.
Scientific Worth Index was built to make journal and author indicators easier to examine. Ranking views lead to profiles, profiles lead to annual evidence, and visible methods explain how calculated values are produced.
Coverage and methods are continuously updated as new evidence and corrections are verified. Submit supporting evidence to admin@scientificworthindex.com.
Why this project exists
Academic discovery tools often place a single score in front of the user while leaving the underlying time window, citation source, classification rule or missing data difficult to see. Scientific Worth Index takes the opposite route: the score is an entry point, while the profile and annual table are the evidence surface.

Journals and authors use different indicators and remain in distinct ranking systems.

Identity, coverage and calculation concerns have a documented review route.
What is different here
Core, Index and Record are visibility and evidence layers, not decorative labels. Self-citation is shown separately rather than hidden inside a composite score. Journal profiles expose 1-year, 2-year and 5-year windows; author profiles keep raw publication and citation totals beside calculated contribution values.

Data sources and coverage
Records are assembled from connected publisher pages, scholarly metadata services and the publication/reference evidence collected for each covered journal set. A source appearing in the pipeline does not mean every field is complete. The interface therefore shows available years, identity fields and update dates where the data supports them.
Coverage rule: absence is not converted into a zero when the underlying evidence is unavailable. Empty years are removed from profile timelines, while genuine zero values remain part of a year that otherwise contains evidence.
Updates and corrections
Send the record URL, identifier and supporting source.
The claim is checked against the connected evidence and identity fields.
Affected profile and ranking values are regenerated where required.
Use the contact routes for journal coverage, author identity, calculation or methodology questions.
Project responsibility
Scientific Worth Index is operated as an independent project. Methodology, data-quality and software decisions are maintained within the project, and correction requests are reviewed against supporting source evidence. Public questions and formal correction requests are received through the documented contact routes.
Independence and limits
Scientific Worth Index is an independent analytical project and is not an official product of Web of Science, Clarivate, Scopus, SCImago or a publisher platform. It does not replace peer review, expert assessment or institutional evaluation. Public methodology pages describe the current calculation logic; they do not imply that the complete software repository is open source.
